Wordshelf Terms of Use (EULA)
Last updated: June 22, 2026
Welcome to Wordshelf, operated by Sourse Labs LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Wordshelf mobile application (the “App”) and related services.
By creating an account or using Wordshelf, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Wordshelf.
By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
Some features of Wordshelf, including Book Clubs, are limited to users physically located in the United States.
2. Acceptable Use and Community Standards
Wordshelf is a community for readers and learners.
We maintain a zero tolerance policy for objectionable, abusive, or illegal content.
You agree not to:
- Post or share content that is hateful, harassing, violent, pornographic, discriminatory, illegal, or otherwise objectionable.
- Use the App to bully, threaten, impersonate, or deceive others.
- Post spam, advertisements, or malicious links.
- Reverse engineer, copy, or exploit Wordshelf's code or data.
- Send abusive, threatening, or unwanted messages to other members in Book Club chats.
- Republish, screenshot, or distribute another member's private Book Club messages outside the club without their consent.
- Share Book Club invite codes for the purpose of spam, harassment, or adding people who have not asked to be added.
- Attempt to bypass the geographic restrictions on Book Clubs or any other feature.
We use automated systems (including, but not limited to, the moderation and safety filters of OpenAI's ChatGPT API and Anthropic's Claude API) and manual review to detect and remove objectionable content.
We may suspend or delete any account that violates these rules, and we reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion.
3. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of any content you create, such as saved words, posts, comments, and Book Club chat messages.
By posting or sharing content in Wordshelf, you grant us a limited license to store, display, distribute, and promote it within the App. For public content such as posts, this license allows us to display it to other Wordshelf users. For private Book Club content, this license is limited to displaying your messages to other members of the same Book Club.
You also grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use the content you create and your activity in the App, including the words you save and the memory aids (“mnemonics”) you view, select, edit, or write, to operate, analyze, and improve Wordshelf and to research, develop, and train features, algorithms, and machine-learning models that improve the product and your experience. If you delete your account, we delete the personal data we hold about you, including your saved words and mnemonic selections.
You understand that:
- Other users may see your posts, profile information, and any messages you send in shared Book Clubs.
- You are solely responsible for the content you share.
- Wordshelf reserves the right to remove or moderate user content at any time for any reason.
4. Reporting and Blocking
To help maintain a safe environment:
- Users can flag or report objectionable content within the app.
- Users can block other users whose behavior they find abusive or unwanted.
- In Book Club chats, blocked users' messages are hidden from your view.
We review and act on valid reports within 24 hours, which may include content removal, removal from a Book Club, or user suspension.
You may also email sourselabsapp@gmail.com to report violations.
5. Book Clubs
Book Clubs are private group chats within Wordshelf. The following rules apply in addition to the general terms above:
- Availability: Book Clubs are currently limited to users physically located in the United States. Access is determined by IP-based geolocation. We may expand availability without notice.
- Creators: the user who creates a Book Club acts as its administrator and may invite members, remove members, and delete the club at any time, for any reason.
- Members: you may leave any Book Club at any time. Once you leave, you lose access to that club's chat history.
- Invite codes: do not share invite codes with people you do not intend to add to the club. We may invalidate invite codes that appear to be circulating publicly or being used for abuse.
- Privacy of chat: Book Club chats are intended to be private to members of that club. Treat other members' messages as you would a private conversation. Sharing or republishing them outside the club without consent is a violation of these Terms.
- Our access: we do not routinely read Book Club messages. We may access individual messages only to investigate reports of abuse, to enforce these Terms, or to comply with valid legal requests.
6. AI-Generated Content
Certain content in Wordshelf (such as definitions, memory aids, or suggestions) may be generated by, but is not limited to, OpenAI's ChatGPT API and Anthropic's Claude API (Claude by Anthropic).
These AI systems include content moderation filters designed to prevent explicit, violent, or offensive language.
AI-generated text should not be considered factual, and Wordshelf is not liable for errors, omissions, or interpretations resulting from such content.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or community guidelines. This includes removing you from one or more Book Clubs without terminating your overall Wordshelf account.
You may delete your account at any time within the app or by contacting sourselabsapp@gmail.com.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Wordshelf is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, or continuously available.
Use of the app is at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sourse Labs LLC and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Wordshelf.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically.
Your continued use of Wordshelf after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
